Botox Treatment

Many people suffer from mild to moderate levels of facial pain caused from headaches, migraines, stress, or TMJ dysfunction. In 2010, Botox was approved by the FDA for the treatment of migraines. Many migraines are caused by overactive and spastic muscles of the head and neck that can manifest as tooth clenching and grinding. Botox is used in the muscles of the head and neck to block nerve signals that cause muscle movements which as a result relaxes the muscles. When these muscles are relaxed, the pain is significantly reduced or eliminated as well as the clenching and grinding previously experienced.

This treatment takes about 10-15 minutes and can provide relief for 3-6 months. With a series of treatments, Botox can retrain your muscles to relax and you will notice your symptoms resolve for longer periods of time.

In addition to a therapeutic treatment, we also offer Botox as a cosmetic treatment to smooth your fine lines and wrinkles, as a way to enhance your skin alongside your smile.

If you are interested in therapeutic or cosmetic Botox treatment, please let us know. Initial Botox treatment appointments will be scheduled for 1 hour for a complete evaluation, and will end with the Botox treatment if indicated.
